Vahid Behzadan is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Data Science. He is also the founder and director of the Secure and Assured Intelligent Learning (SAIL) research group, and mentors the University's hacking team. Dr. Behzadan's research is primarily on the safety and security of artificial intelligence and complex adaptive systems. His pioneering work on the security of deep reinforcement learning is recognized as seminal contributions to this growing field of research. Dr. Behzadan's recent work includes publications on the applications of machine learning to security and safety assessment of complex systems, such as driverless cars, unmanned aerial systems, and smart cities. He has presented numerous invited talks on the security of machine learning, and applications of data science in cybersecurity at venues such as the Open Web Application Security Project (OWSAP) foundation, the Black Hat conference, and UK's Transportation Research Laboratory (TRL). His research on the psychopathological approach to AI safety has been featured in national and international news.

Laurie Iacono is an associate managing director in the Cyber Risk practice, based in Secaucus. Laurie leverages more than seven years of cyber experience conducting threat intelligence analysis and managing the day-to-day operations of global cyber intelligence analysts. She assists clients with investigative and technical support in incident response and dark web monitoring.
Prior to joining Kroll, Laurie managed the Brand and Consumer Protection program at the National Cyber-Forensics Training Alliance (NCFTA). During her time at the NCFTA, Laurie led a large team of intelligence analysts providing tactical and strategic reports on the cyber threat landscape across multiple industries. She frequently collaborated with industry and law enforcement partners, facilitated working groups and provided substantive input to the NCFTA’s analyst training program to help improve the cyber workforce.
Laurie has presented at BSides Pittsburgh, Security Connect 2021 and the 2022 SANS CTI Summit. Currently, she is also an adjunct professor, lecturing on cyber tradecraft at Robert Morris University and covering an introduction to cybercrimes at the University of Pittsburgh.

A former federal cybercrime prosecutor and National Security Cyber Specialist at the U.S. Department of Justice, Ed has handled a multitude of high-profile, complex and sensitive investigations, trials and appeals. He has extensive experience with hacking; ransomware; identity and intellectual property theft; cyber extortion; cyberstalking, defamation, harassment and threats; terrorism and domestic extremism; online child exploitation; financial, government contracting and tax fraud; money laundering; obstruction of justice; public corruption; and human, narcotics and firearms trafficking.
Ed has been recognized as a “Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Trailblazer” by National Law Journal and has received various awards from law enforcement agencies for his work on behalf of victims of cybercrime. He is a regular commentator, presenter and author on issues related to cybersecurity, digital privacy, cybercrime and Internet safety.

A sought-after speaker, Dave served as a lecturing professor teaching the semester-long PR Media & Messaging course to upper-division undergraduates at San Diego State University. He authored several Amazon e-Books and co-produced four LinkedIn Learning courses. Dave is an accredited PR specialist (APR) who received his MBA from San Diego State University in 2004 and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in 1991.

Shane Skidgel is a proven IT leader, advisor and board member with over 24 year’s hands-on management experience offering expertise in overseeing security, network and software development operations. Known for spearheading security initiatives across the enterprise and architecting internal computer systems allowing for increased transaction flow.
Shane currently serves as CISO and interim CTO for U.S. Payments, a third-party payment processing company for utilities, overseeing all security and software development in the enterprise. In his spare time, he serves on a local school foundation board and serves as its IT Committee Chairman.

Alex is a security marketer experienced in product marketing and market research. Prior to Red Canary, Alex worked at Splunk marketing SIEM products and capabilities, and before Splunk he worked at Forrester doing market research across a number of security domains.

Matthew is focused on national named accounts to help ensure the right technology fit and quantifiable business results. He is based out of Denver, CO and is proud to be celebrating ten years at Quest in March 2023.

Bryan Neilson is an experienced Cyberspace Operations and Intelligence professional who built his career supporting Defensive and Offensive Cyberspace Operations, and Covert Action for the US Intelligence Community. Bryan’s work, which has spanned the globe, can be directly tied to saving the lives of countless officers and assets, enabling kinetic military objectives, influencing foreign government actions, and helping to ensure mission continuity and national security. Today, Bryan is a thought leader within Check Point Software Technologies, where he leads a local team of talented Security Engineers, serves as the Subject Matter Expert in Sophisticated Cyberspace Tradecraft, and is actively involved in projects to extend and modernize Check Point’s portfolio. In his free time, Bryan enjoys continuing to broaden (and deepen) his expertise, share his knowledge through mentoring, and spending time with his partner Darlene and their two dogs.

Chris Ritchhart is Security Architect at Check Point focusing on hybrid workforce security for North America. Chris brings over 20 years’ experience in IT, email security and endpoint security where he has worked with customers and partners to help secure their businesses. Chris uses his experience to help Check Point’s customers on systems, threats and the overall threat landscape to effectively protect their users and data in an ever changing world. When Chris isn’t at Check Point you’ll find him doing photography, surfing or cycling around town.
